Vineyard Tour

For those interested in wine can we suggest a great day out with a Vineyard Tour?

If you would like to visit some vineyards for a “degustation” but don’t like the thought of driving, we can arrange for a guided tour, Iain can accommodate 4 people in his car, others may follow if they wish, he will take you to some superb viticulteurs where you can sample and buy excellent wines, to suit your tastes.

These tours have proved to be very popular with our past guests, who all agree is an excellent day out and great value for money, tariffs depend on the amount of people partaking of the tour.

Should guests be interested it is best to book this as early as possible, as they are very popular, simply let me know and I will happily organise this for you.

Reserve your place today with Jo or Iain

The price is 55€ per person, minimum 2 people.

The first place we visit is Gratien & Meyer, for sparkling wines  www.gratienmeyer.com.

We will then visit some vineyards in Turquant, though these vary depending who is open. The main vineyard there  is Retiveau – Retif,  Domaine  des champs fleuris. www.champs-fleuris.com  who produce Champigny reds, Saumur rosé and whites, or we may visit Domaine Bourdin, who produce the similar wines.

Then onto  La Grande Vignolle,  Domaine Filliatreau again on the outskirts of Turquant, www.filliatreau.fr.  Here we can again sample the red wines Saumur Champigny (Domaine Filliatreau and Lena Filliatreau) and Saumur (Chateau Fouquet) and the white wine Saumur Blanc (Imago)

After this I will drive towards Candes St. Martin, over the Vienne and onto Bourgueil crossing the river Loire at Port Boulet. Here we visit Guy Delanoue at Domaine de la Perruche. to taste his red Bourgueil and St Nicolas de Bourgueil, and, when available, his rosé.

Below is a map showing the route of the tour.
