Le Poulet 

Due to some long term family guests, Le Poulet is not available for the 2023 season.

This cottage was the original habitable part of our property. The ground floor is a large open plan room with a “ Tuffeau” fireplace with wood burner and characterful black and white chequered floor, not original, but never the less was laid over 190 years ago when the original fireplace and bread oven was removed, and replaced with that of today. The room retains its original oak beams which we have had sandblasted to bring them back to their natural beauty. You will find a kitchen area with fridge / freezer, microwave, gas hob and electric oven, toaster, along with all the necessary items / equipment you would need, along with a pine dining table and chairs, and antique oak sideboard. In the lounge area you will find a large 3 seater sofa, 2 seater sofa and chair, with coffee table. On the antique oak chest there is a television with English tv channels, dvd player, Bluetooth Speaker, Hi Fi and C.D player. There is also large selection of books, that guests may choose to read; Wi-fi access is available, with USB charge points.

To the rear of the cottage you have a covered patio with BBQ, garden table and chairs, along with a shared enclosed garden.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a shower room.  The shower room has a toilet, basin and shower. 

One bedroom has a double bed with bed side chest of drawers, a built in wardrobe, dressing table and chair and a separate chest of drawers. At one end of the bedroom you have a small door with “Juliet balcony” overlooking the pretty  courtyard and countryside. Opposite the bed there is a dormer window which has wonderful views overlooking the rolling countryside and pine forests beyond.

Both bedrooms have USB charging points and UK style sockets.

The second bedroom has twin beds with bedside tables, a built in wardrobe and chest of drawers, the Velux window looks out onto the pretty courtyard. Both these bedrooms retain the original oak beams, some low. 

The shower room has a shower, washbasin and toilet.
Utilities; Guests have shared use of a washing machine ( available at a small charge ) located in our private storeroom between the two cottages.
Guests may take a wander over to our pool area and take a dip in our private 11m x 5m salt water heated swimming pool.  Opening times are between 10.00am to 6.00pm subject to water/weather conditions. Please note, due to Health & Safety regulations, no un-accompanied children under 16 years of age are allowed in or around the pool area.

If governing bodies declare a drought situation or water shortage crisis leaving owners having to adhere to regulations regarding water usage, including possible pool closure the, owners cannot be held responsible.

For your comfort, and the comfort of future guests, smoking is not permitted inside the cottage, or on the property.  Thank you.
